Project 2 dives deep to connect, inspire, and empower!
The 2020 women’s empowerment workshop was a SUCCESS!
October 12, 2020
After months of planning and preparing, we are excited to announce that the Project 2 women’s empowerment workshop was a success! We want to thank all of our coaches, participants, donors, and businesses that helped support our mission.
The workshop was filled with education, opportunity, inspiration, and even tears at times. Every individual involved was committed to the process. Our coaches were nothing short of spectacular. They were compassionate, caring, and so very generous with their time and involvement. We all learned so much from each other. “What ended up happening is the speakers, coaches, and participants all had a transformative, empowering, and educational experience. We were asked to speak and share from our expertise and as we taught from that space, we learned from the participants as well. I can say that this wonderful experience beautifully stretched us all in a way that we will never forget.” said Yvelette Stines, Author and Founder of Stines Communication group.
Our participants were inspiring, committed, and fearless. “One of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had!” said Kathleen Hurd, a Project 2 participant. Another participant, Arlanda Cathedge said “I feel like I am on my way to the top!”
The range of topics covered touched everyone involved, from resume writing to financial guidance, from healthy living to how to navigate a formal place setting…we covered a lot in two days. “For years I’ve been frustrated by the disconnect between those who really need financial advice and those who can pay for it.” says Julie Quick, Certified Financial Planner and Founder of Cultivate Financial Wellness. She also adds “The team at Project 2 understands that financial literacy is another form of empowerment and I was honored to make individualized financial advice available to an underserved community.”
Moving forward we have a lot of exciting things planned for our inaugural Project 2 group. Our participants have been paired with a coach and will also be invited to future trainings and workshops. Our hope is that our participants will become mentors to our next group.
“We laughed, we cried, we learned, and now we have a strong community of women committed to working together.” said Danielle Kovachevich, Detroit Academy of Etiquette Founder and Co-Founder of Project 2. There is so much more to come and we are excited about the future of Project 2.
